How You Can Help. Donations.
In this section we include information about how
you can help Speakeasier and people with MS. There are many ways in which
you can help us to help others who are affected by MS.
We seek Donations and Sponsorship - as generous as possible, so we can continue
to help those who suffer from speech problems due to the effects of MS.
We also seek practical help for our ongoing work here at the charity.
A personal message from Steve Brisk, founder of
Speakeasier:
I was just 29, a highly ambitious and successful Sales Manager for Clarks Shoes, when I discovered I had MS.
I had never had a day off sick.
MS can and does hit Anybody
I implore you, whatever your usual company or personal criteria, to please help a person who has lost their speech due to MS to speak again.
Your donation can return the gift of speech!
Sadly those MS sufferers who lose their speech are sometimes those whose MS is most virulent and whose lives may be
foreshortened. Inevitably, since Speakeasier was established, several of our clients have died.
But at least we have the satisfaction of knowing that, due to our efforts, they
did not die in silence with wishes not expressed and thoughts left unspoken.
Speakeasier makes a real difference!
Your donation will make a very real difference.
Thank you most sincerely,
Steve Brisk

Legacy and Bereavement Donations
You can make a very special gift to people with MS who have lost the ability to speak by leaving a legacy to
Speakeasier in your will. To do this you will need to specify our Registered Address and Charity Number which are given at the foot of this web page.
At the sad time of a bereavement please consider making a donation to Speakeasier in lieu of flowers at the funeral. Simply forward your donation to the relevant funeral director, quoting the Speakeasier contact details given at the foot of this page. To enhance the value of your donation to Speakeasier please specify your donation to be a ‘Gift Aid Donation’ to take advantage of Gift Aid tax relief as explained above.
Making such a donation will directly benefit someone with MS whose illness has deprived them of their ability to communicate their thoughts and needs, requiring the use of a speech aid.
Practical Help
Speakeasier is managed by a board of trustee/directors, all of whom are volunteers. We currently need to strengthen our team with additional members. Others contribute in a variety of ways, helping us with web design, holding coffee mornings, etc. If you would be interested in offering us the benefit of your experience we shall be pleased to hear from you.
Whatever your background and experience, if you feel that you can help in any way, please phone Speakeasier on 01242 705681 or email speakeasier@blueyonder.co.uk
