Movers in Collierville TN

Having been living in our ancestral home of more than 2,500 square meters for the last 25 years, it was difficult to even imagine life outside this home, but since the parents are now gone and they passed on to the next life, it just made sense to move on as well.

I found this new place in Bartlett, quaint but it offered enough space for me and my two children. Of course, we won’t be able to move every piece of furniture and fixture into our new home, so here are some of the reminders that I stood by while selecting which items to pack and which ones to leave behind.

Will I be using this in my new home?

I’ve inherited a lot of stuff from my folks, but that doesn’t mean I’ll be bringing them all to the new home. There are some stuff I love more than others though, that I’m willing to make some space for them in the new home. But in the end, when I hold each item or look at it, I think deeply if I’ll be using it or not. If it will be useful – pack it. If not, I’ll dispose of, sell, or donate it.

Does this item hold any sentimental value?

When it comes to family heirlooms, its difficult to determine if I’m going to keep or dispose it. The simplest of paperwork can hold very dear emotions, that it can pull on my heartstrings easily, but then reality kicks in and I have to ask myself: “is it worth keeping?” so I decided the truly important documents that I want to keep are the birth certificates, newspaper clippings, and historic letters.

Are my children going to want this someday?

If I ask my kids if they want anything, of course, I’ll get a shrug of uncertainty. What you need to consider is can they use it when they grow up? If yes, then pack it, its worth keeping. If no, go ahead and consider selling the item(s).
